Engagement: Implementation of a 3rd Party ERP solution to replace a legacy system.
Working Together: Since February 2014.
Customer Activity: Design and manufacture of springs, valve rotators and actuators. World leader in the design and manufacture of acoustic and EGR exhaust valves, with its own in-house Technical Centre.
Helical approached GB3 to assist in the implementation of a 3rd Party ERP solution (LN10.3) provided by Infor. A Statement of Work document had been agreed between Helical & Infor, with GB3 engaged to manage the deployment and align Helical’s business procedures with the solution.
GB3 provided project implementation services, establishing and training an internal project team based in the UK. Over a period of six months, GB3 worked to ensure that the application was configured and supported by creating and following Business Process Design Documents pertinent to each work stream / function based on as is / to be.
Liaising with Infor business specific consultants (Finance, Manufacturing & Operations) a UAT environment was created and scenarios run based on the To Be processes. The output of this was a library of ISD documents that established and confirmed Helical’s requirements.
Existing data was extracted from the legacy system, analysed, cleaned / amended and processed into the new ERP solution. Super Users were identified and trained in both system usage and in strategies to cascade train remaining users on role specific requirements.
GB3 collaborated with the Infor consultants and provided business analysis support during the lifecycle of the project to improve Helical’s internal business procedures to meet the solution’s requirements and reflect reality.
1. Trainer+ resource deployed to local offices during project delivery, providing onsite support where it was needed (Both Project Specific and “Other” software).
2. Used one resource in multiple roles during implementation, ensuring savings and stronger delivery through flexibility of tasks.
3. Quickly gained in-depth knowledge of systems; resulting in autonomy of operation within the project delivery team.
